Last night, The Women’s Concert for Change aired on NBC. Beyonce was the headliner of the show and she was joined by other A-list celebs such as Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Zoe Saldana, Jay-Z, John Legend, Timbaland, and many more.
The Sound of Change concert took place at Twickenham Stadium in London, and was a charity event for the new Chime for Change campaign. Chime for Change was co-founded by Gucci’s creative director Frida Giannini, Beyonce and Salma Hayek. The purpose of the campaign is to empower and advance women in the areas of health, education and justice. The concert was a success. The show was sold out and they raised over four million dollars.
There were performances from Florence + The Machine, Jessie J, Rita Ora, John Legend, and more. The highlights of the show were Jennifer Lopez bringing Mary J. Blige out during her set and Beyonce surprising the audience by bringing out Jay-Z for their performance of “Crazy In Love.”
Beyonce also performed her hits “Run The World (Girls),” “Single Ladies,” and her new single “Grown Woman;” along with classic hits like Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You,” Etta James’ “At Last,” and Sam Cooke’s “Change Is Gonna Come.”
