NEW MUSIC: Jay-Z – “Open Letter”

Timbaland, Jay-Z, Swizz Beatz

Jay & Bey are done holding back!

Like his wife Beyonce’, Jay-Z has had enough with what people have to say and has released his own version of “Bow Down.” In his new track, “Open Letter,” just released this morning, Jay-Z is calling out all those who have a problem with how he’s living his life.

It’s obvious the track was recorded not long ago, because he addresses all the controversy around his trip to Cuba with Beyonce’ for their 5th wedding anniversary.

Using Kevin Hart’s popular phrase, “You gon’ learn today,” Jay-Z attacks politicians, false stories about his new sports management company, and he even talks about President Barack Obama.

Here’s some of what Jay-Z says:

In regards to Cuba:

“I done turned Havana into Atlanta…”

“They wanna give me jail time and a fine — Fine, let me commit a real crime….”

“Politicians never did sh** for me / except lie to me, distort history”

Barack Obama:

“Obama said, ‘Chill you’re going to get me impeached’ / You don’t need this s*** anyway, chill with me on the beach.”

In regards to his sports agency and the Brooklyn Nets:

“I woulda moved the Nets to Brooklyn for free / Except I made millions off you f****** dweebs.”

“I still own the building, I’m still keeping my seats / You buy that bulls***, you better keep your receipts.”

The royal couple of hip hop are definitely flexing their muscles and getting a little bossy this year.

Take a listen to the track below:

Sidenote: The track was produced by Swizz Beatz, who can be heard all through the song.  Timbaland also co-produced the track.
