Queen Bey is in the studio working on the masterpiece we’re all holding our breath for.  One of the mega-producers she’s collaborating with is The-Dream.  He’s responsible for one of her biggest hits, “Single Ladies.”

The-Dream did an interview with MTV’s RapFix Live a few days ago and dished on what we could expect from Beyonce’s next album.  He said:

“There’s no particular sound that I think we’re shooting for, we’re just trying to make music that feels good.”

“If you seen the HBO thing, which was great, we had been talking about doing something that showcases who she is and what she wants because we see those figures that are so out of the stratosphere.”

“She’s just shooting to be regular and OK and not trying to appease everybody.”

There is still no title for Beyonce’s new album or a release date.  I can only assume that the release will be around the time she kicks off the North American leg of her Mrs. Carter world tour which is in April.  I’ll keep holding my breath…

Sidenote: Beyonce recently added more shows to her tour.  Click here for more info.

Chime for Change

In other Beyonce news, she has joined a movement to empower girls and women all over the world.  The empowerment of woman has always been a major focus in Beyonce’s career.  Her hit songs “Run The World (Girls)” and “Independent Women” make me proud to be a woman every time I hear them.

Beyonce teamed up with Salma Hayek and Gucci’s creative director Frida Giannini for a new global campaign called “Chime For Change.”  This campaign is dedicated to raise money and bring awareness to different projects that benefit women and young girls.

When asked about her involvement in the movement, Beyonce said:

“I have always felt strongly about equal opportunity for women. Girls have to be taught from early on that they are strong and capable of being anything they want to be. It’s up to us to change the statistics for women around the world. I’m honored to be in the company of women who live fearlessly and set an example for the next generation of young ladies.”

As part of the campaign, stories of inspiring and successful women will be shared through videos.  A total of 10 videos will be released and the first video features the three ladies introducing the campaign.  Take a look at the video below:

Other celebrities working on the campaign behind-the-scenes are Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep and Jada Pinkett-Smith.  Jada joined Salma Hayek yesterday at the “Chime For Change” event to announce the project.  See some pics below:
