I know you may not have heard of Ursula Burns, but trust me, she is a black woman that rocks! Ursula is currently the Chairman and CEO of Xerox. She is the first black woman ever to serve as CEO of a Fortune 500 company. Ursula was ranked as the 17th most powerful woman by Forbes in 2012.

She’s began her career with Xerox in 1980 as a summer engineering intern and has climbed the ranks of the corporate latter. Last year she spoke out against the Augusta National Gold Club’s restriction on female members and in August, the restriction was lifted, and membership was granted to women.

Ursula Burns thank you for being a professional, intelligent, and classy black woman for us to look up to. Your advances in corporate America have opened doors for those of us coming behind you. You prove that dedication and hard work pays off. Black women are now seen in a new arena because of you and for that we say thank you.
